Shine On, Shine On Harvest Moon ...
up in the sky ... Tonight in TN we'll enjoy a bright clear night, the better to enjoy this harvest moon! And hopefully the horses won't gaze longingly over the fenceline, drooling as they did last night, and be tempted like Adam to Eve's apple. We had men come in and work the pasture over about three weeks ago. First it was smoothed from all the deep, wide ruts, then grass seed was laid down and on top of that, 80 bales of staw. About a week after that, Bermuda sod was laid down in many areas -- a lot of sod! We watered, watered, watered, and the sod is beginning to take root!
It is now Sunday, three days later. The creepy horses made good use of that Harvest Moon and got into the pasture by knocking down the Texas gate that keeps them out, and they had a fine time munching on all that sod! We've put forth every effort to repair the damage, and now all we can do is sit and wait. Oh what a heartbreak that was!

Typically, the weather has been hot/cold. It's usually warm during the day but really cools off at night. I like to leave the window next to my bed open but I keep waking w/ a sore throat which totally sucks. Guess I'm gonna have to cut back on that because it's very UNfun! Having the windows open 24/7 is overrated for me at least because of the pollen. It's been so long since it rained around here everything is all stirred up, and I cough and sneeze nearly continually. I've actually awoken in the middle of the night by sneezing! I take Sudafed which helps, a little.
On Friday, one of our much-loved local news anchors and his wife were struck by a car while taking their daily walk at 6.30 AM. Tom Britt survived, but unfortunately his wife did not.
Police are still seeking information about the hit-and-run driver.
HIT-AND-RUN
Meanwhile, his physical condition is improving but it's a sad story.

Oh me. Michael Schumacher blew his engine in the Japanese Grand Prix, and so will not end his career w/ the Formula One points championship. Fernando Alonso won that race.

Kill me now.
But it's not all bad news today! I have something brand new to post -- Cats Who Look Like Hitler! Observe:

OUCH!
So I had a little accident. Again. Except for once it wasn't horse-related, ATV-related, tractor-related, etc. It was my own clumsiness which should surprise no one as I'm the clumsiest person on earth. If I miss that Palomino show next month because of this I'm gonna be ticked! I didn't think something like this would stop me but my mom sure is convinced it is. I've had a difficult time sleeping since this happened. We're talking major pain.
Ordinarily when I read online news -- CNN, Fox News, Yahoo News, Google News, Reuters, MSNBC to name a few -- daily I skip most of the "fluff" but today something caught my eye and it's funny! No, it's not really funny ... See for yourself -- the first entry in the "Peculiar" category:

I mean, every single person who knows anything about Willie knows about the ... uh ... recreational biologicals, and believe you me, you can't come w/in 20' of him w/out noticing a really strong fragrance about him even though he's adamant about "You don't smell anything." All these years it's been the Good Old Boy Network at it's finest, but someone forgot to tell one particular Louisiana State Trooper.
And then I ran across the most interesting photo -- not in "fluff" pieces -- because the colors are striking and rich!
I think it's gorgeous.
GREAT PRODUCT ALERT:
The Littersweep is working more fabulously than I could ever have imagined. Both Furballs have -- apparently -- taken to it w/out incident although when it roars they still run away. I'm absolutely thrilled, and would have willingly paid far more for it than I did. I simply got an excellent buy on it. Now everyone is happy! I empty the container I guess once every 3-4 days, no muss, no fuss, easy as can be!
Finally, because I'm finally winding down and the pain pill is taking effect (at last!) I'm posting a freebie that you absolutely must get!
The Swiffer Duster has changed my life particularly because I get tons of dust from the pasture! They really work, and if you use this form it really comes! Trust me, you'll thank me later.

So she makes a comment like that, something sort of specific like that and the next time I'm out, or the time after that I run into the exact thing she was looking for, and it'll be a really crazy price like $20 for an entire queen sheet set. And I'm not even looking for it, I just happen across it like that. Everyone knows it, and lots of people ask me to keep an eye out for certain items from time to time. Honest, it's a true blessing! I can point out various things in my nest that probably I wouldn't have gotten, or at least gotten when I did had I not run across it at the price I did. Say, my Kitchen Aid toaster -- I do have a very nice toaster but I'm renovating, and adding red accents to my kitchen: red/black coffeemaker, red/black microwave -- you get the idea. So I happen to run across the toaster and well, it was a steal I tell you so I got it.

Plus, anyone who knows me will tell you I have an amazing knack for "bumping into" clearance items. For example ... Let's say my mom makes a comment that she'd love to have a new set of sheets, Egyptian cotton, 600 thread count (which is really hysterical because Mom doesn't really care about something of that nature, but we're pretending, okay? So she makes a comment like that, something sort of specific like that and the next time I'm out, or the time after that I run into the exact thing she was looking for, and it'll be a really crazy price like $20 for an entire queen sheet set. And I'm not even looking for it, I just happen across it like that. Everyone knows it, and lots of people ask me to keep an eye out for certain items from time to time. Honest, it's a true blessing! I can point out various things in my nest that probably I wouldn't have gotten, or at least gotten when I did had I not run across it at the price I did. Say, my Kitchen Aid toaster -- I do have a very nice toaster but I'm renovating, and adding red accents to my kitchen: red/black coffeemaker, red/black microwave -- you get the idea. So I happen to run across the toaster and well, it was a steal I tell you so I got it.

I was going to add more but of course I got sidetracked and it's not 3.20 AM and I really do have to go to bed eventually. And the reason I'm not in bed yet is because I have a bad tummy and I've been battling a U.T.I. and I'm in more pain than I've ever had w/ one previously. Which brings me to my next problem: Tomorrow I was to head out for a few days to a casino/hotel I've never been to before, and I was really excited about it. I have a Jacuzzi suite reserved, my meals are paid for -- the entire trip is comped plus I have vouchers for gambling $. But I won't be going. I'm either getting in to my doctor's office tomorrow or I'm going to the E.R. I can't believe this is happening ... I mean, the timing is crap! This is like, sooooooo not fair!
