Actually

... my blog title should be more like "Beer For My Wolfdog?" because I have no horses, not anymore. They're all gone now. My babies are all gone, all the tack, saddles, show tack, grooming supplies, leads, halters, everything, gone! This 97 acre horse ranch is lonely, so very lonely ... There's a reason for everything -- it's said -- although sometimes I simply can't fathom why.

This Isn't Happening ... Again

Oh but of course it is. I'm in Major Stress Mode: I have a gazillion and one things to do before I leave for Tunica and because I'm worrying I cannot sleep. I am spring cleaning my house because 1) It needs it and 2) This will afford me the opportunity to locate even more Stuff for my garage sale: Kill two birds w/ one stone -- as it were; I have to take Legs to be groomed; I have two test drives to do, and I'm taking my mama w/ me because she wants to go to Target; I did manage to get my hair cut and do some necessity shopping but I gave out before I got my brows waxed so I have that yet to do -- I can't exactly lasso me a cowboy w/ shaggy hair and a unibrow, can I? I have tons and tons and tons of things to do and that's what's keeping me awake and beyond stressed. I won't get finished in time, I know I won't, but it honestly helps when my mom pets me and says very soothingly, "Don't worry. Things always fall into place." It's 5.00 am. Do you suppose it's too early to wake her so she can say that to me now?

I was so tired tonight I took a Tylenol PM a little after 10.00 pm but I flopped around so much I made Legs mad and she left the bed. (But that made Roger happy.) I still hadn't even dozed by 1.00 so I got up and took another Tylenol PM. Not a single visit from Mr. Sandman yet so I finally got up, and before I made Legs mad at me again. I'm wiped out but if I'd actually fall asleep now I wouldn't wake up in like 2 - 3 hours and then I'd be really ticked at myself.

Two notes and I'm getting to work:
Barbaro is doing much better than expected, but still has a 50/50 chance of survival. The good news is, he's eating like ... well, a horse, he's weight-bearing on that leg and he's been flirting w/ nearby mares. He nickers at them!
And Tuesday was my mare's birthday! She got special treats because she's a special girl. I pulled a bunch of clover for her which she adored! Her son of course had to slobber all over it before I could get it to her but she got the lion's share of what I'd pulled. She's a gentle, sweet girl and I'm so blessed, so very blessed to live w/ these magnificent animals. However, as evidenced by Barbaro even though the are powerful, they are also fragile in many ways.

And now I'm off to work. I'll never get finished in time ... Maybe I need to wake up Mama for that peptalk I need. Nah ... I can wait for another 90 minutes. I just can't be cruel to her like that.

See ya --

The Preakness

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
My mood today: Hot and Cranky.
It's 92°out in my shop right now!

Today is the Preakness and naturally I'm keepin' an eyeball on my favorite, Barbaro.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I'll be watching a few others as well, just to see who's antsy and who's laid-back. Dang, it's the only way I know to "pick" a winner.
Barn notes from the site:
Preakness Favorite Barbaro Arrives at Pimlico; Sweetnorthernsaint Will Be Last to Make Scene
BALTIMORE, 5-19-06 – The van from Fair Hill Training Center containing Preakness Stakes morning-line favorite Barbaro and contender Diabolical pulled into the Pimlico backstretch at about 2:35 Friday afternoon after the 60-mile trip, greeted by the largest throng of media all week at the Pimlico Stakes Barn.
“It was short,’’ said assistant trainer Peter Brette of the trip before Barbaro settled into the traditional Kentucky Derby winner’s Stall 40. “It was a real pleasure to take him back to Fair Hill and let him be a horse for a week out of the media (spotlight) and all. It was pretty quiet there. He relaxes there; he’s home and it was really nice just to take him to Churchill Downs and back to Fair Hill.”
Barbaro was first off the van past a large contingent of photographers and TV cameras, along with his pony, Messaging. Trainer Michael Matz was scheduled to arrive at Pimlico about 90 minutes later.
“He didn’t look as though he lost too much weight at Churchill Downs,’’ said Brette, who also exercises the undefeated son of Dynaformer. “He’s been eating and he’s very, very bright. We’ll know a lot more tomorrow. We were thinking about bringing him earlier, but he was eating well at home and we can turn him out there also,’’ Brette said. “He can eat grass there. It’s a much better environment. This is very tough for any horse – to come and do this in two weeks. He’s a man now, and I think at Churchill he showed what a classy animal he is,’’ Brette said. “He’ll settle in straight away here also. He’s a real professional.’’

"He's a man now," oh my! He's a three year old baby! Please. But then my four year old is still a baby ... probably because I still treat him that way. I can't help it, I tell you! I try, but I can't help but baby all the horses, all the animals on the ranch. They didn't ask to come live w/ me, I asked for them and they deserve the best that can be provided.

I'm getting more and worried about my mom, and soon I'm gonna be really angry: Recently she's begun crying very easily and this does not please me. We're all under stress, and the largest part is needless stress, something that shouldn't even be happening to us! Being the glue that keeps this family together is finally wearing on her and I simply cannot tolerate that. No one wants to see me angry over this. Trust me.

I guess everyone knows by now the so-called Runaway Bride will not be a bride after all.

BUG EYES DUMPED!

And the question that's burned in everyone's minds for many years:
Who plays "Jack" in the Jack in the Box commercials?
THE MYSTERY CONTINUES

I gotta go take a shower. I'm irritable because I'm sticky. Bleah!

Life Is GRAND!

I feel Photobucket - Video and Image HostingFrom this day forward, I am not listening: Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting So, life is GRAND!!

Sharmy, I have more photos to share w/ you because I changed my hotel reservations. Okay, let's face it, I want to gloat!

This is my room at the Grand Veranda, part of the Grand Casino Resort:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

And this is the pool area, which has a Grecian spa theme:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Wait! I have one more thing to rub in: IT'S ALL FREE!! Oh man, I really crack myself up!! Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Really, I'm anxious to get away and I think my poor parents are just as glad to see me go! *LOL* This garage sale is gonna stress us a little more, but not much and then it's gonna be downhill from there. I have a lot of cleaning of items to do but at least my beloved mom is finished w/ the gazillion loads of clothes she washed, dried, and folded/hung neatly for the sale. Poor angel! The date of the sale has been decided upon and hopefully after it's all over it'll finance a Summer of Fun! Yeehaw! Here's the best part: Daddy will have his shop back. He's been so good for so long, very understanding -- definitely more than I would have been, believe me! But I do have that very long list of pet peeves, things that get on my nerves in an instant. My Geezers are not like that. Daddy is forgiving, and Mama is the glue that holds everything together. I've always thought that about them.

Oops! Time to feed my babies! Be back later --

8.30pm:
I'm finally back! My mom and I went in town for a burger and halfway there Daddy called to say he and The Duck were finished rolling hay, and he was on his way home. So we got din-din for him too! Now I'm full as a tick. I still have half a Jamocha shake left but I can't put it down. It's sooo yummy!

Wait ... I gotta let Legs out. It's the Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I wonder ... What does it feel like to be Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting?? Hmm ... Someday I'll ask!

Gotta run! Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

READ IT AND WEEP !!

So, you know how I've been talking about I need to get away from the four walls, the horses, the animals, the ranch? I thought I'd go to Nashville and just spend some time away and I went so far as to check on hotel availability but for some reason I'd just not gone so far as to make a reservation yet. I have all this crap going on w/ my garage sale -- although the boxes are all sorted now, taped up and ready to be put into the loft! I didn't know when I'd be able to get away from here even though I wanted to get away like before now. Well, the mail came today and I belong to all those Prime Rewards, Winners Circle, etc. that all the casinos have so I get offers for great deals down there. I'm already sitting on a $20 coupon for slot machines at the Horseshoe and I don't know what else but today I received an offer I simply cannot resist from Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

When I'm not in the gaming area:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I can laze around the pool or in the Jacuzzi:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Eventually I'll have to crash:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

That's a dinky photo, I know but on the other hand, who really goes to casinos to sleep? Not me!

But I forgot to tell you what the deal is: TWO NIGHTS FREE !! How can I resist that? I'm making my reservation NOW !! More later --

Anyway ... Plus Cool Sites!

I know you love Cool Sites so I'm posting some today. After I finish here I'm headed out to the shop to go through the remaining five boxes -- yay! And soon I'll have my sale. I should make a bundle off all my jeans alone. Sheesh! So the monies I garner from the sale will finance my Summer of Fun ... And new clothes, more Coach, Prada and Louis Vuitton bags I can't live w/out and so on. I'm shameless, I know. On to the Cool Sites!

Birthday facts
Do you know how many days until your next birthday? Or how many ounces of water the candles on your birthday cake would boil? This Cool Site can tell you that and so much more. For example, you can find out the moon phase on the date of your birth. You’ll also see how old you are in seconds and minutes. I don’t know why you’d want to your age in seconds. It’s guaranteed to make you feel older than you really are! And in case you’re dying to know, you’ll even find the Julian date of your birthday. For those who are into numerology, you’ll find your life path number. This number reveals your personality traits. Read what your number means. Whether it’s accurate is something you’ll have to determine yourself.
OLDER THAN YOU THOUGHT

Finding a needle in a haystack
When it comes time to select a book to read, what do you do? If you are like most people, you look at the front and back covers. Or you can search the book’s index. That’s so 90s. At Amazon, you can now search inside books. For example, let’s say you want to know more about stock market predictions. Enter that phrase in the search box, and click the GO! button. You will get a list of search results, including excerpts from books containing the words you searched for. Click on one of the excerpts to see the full page from the book you selected.
Note: If you are not a registered Amazon customer, you will have to set up an account before viewing book excerpts.
FIND THAT BOOK

What’s on sale this week?
The Internet is a great place to get news. The headlines are constantly updated, and you don’t get ink on your fingers. But I always feel that something is missing--the ad inserts! This is a dangerous site for me but I love it anyway! Now you can get the ad inserts without buying the newspaper. At this Cool Site, you can view weekly store specials. Just enter your ZIP code to see what’s on sale in your area. Browse through the ads by store. Or, search by category for results from all stores. If you see something you want, add it to your shopping list. When you’re done, print your list. It will contain the information you need to make your purchases. You can also sign up for sales alerts. You’ll get an e-mail notice when new sales match your search.
SHOP TILL YOU DROP

New wallpaper for your desktop
The Windows’ desktop wallpaper is kind of boring. Sure, Microsoft tried to spice it up a bit with XP. But a picture of a beach is distracting -– it makes me wish I was there! And that green Teletubbie hill gets old after awhile. Well, this site is all about cool wallpaper. The creator seems to be handy with Photoshop. He’s created a lot of wallpaper specifically for Windows. There’s also a series that’s referred to as “Disasters.” These photographs simulate events from movies like Independence Day and Deep Impact. And if you prefer beach photos, you'll find those, too!
GIMME COOL WALLPAPER

I'm off to the shop now. I'm really getting excited as I had no idea how much Stufff I could get rid of -- nor how much Stuff I could keep! Now I can get even more Stuff which is of course one of my favorite things to do!

Brrrrrrrrrr!!

5.00pm:
I'm tired, I'm chilled and I'm nauseous. It's been a lovely day, I declare! It's 72° outside but extremely windy out of the west at about 20 mph, and when I was in the shop working it felt pretty dang good but in my nest it's brrr -- cold! I'm actually sitting here w/ a jacket on. At least the sun is out, which is wonderful for the veggies. I'll check on the garden when I go down to get Beer For My Horses in an hour. Mama invited me for dinner tonight but I'm not sure I'll be able to go because of the time factor: Daddy has been working w/ the Duck today and he's not home yet. By the time he does arrive, get his shower, etc. it might be time for me to tend my Large Puppies so ... I can have me something else for dinner. I don't cook but I can throw a mean sandwich together. *LOL* Oops! Gotta run, be back later!

9.30pm:
I'm finally back. You know how it is: You do one thing and it leads to 27 others. I'm stressing over the stupid sale I'm having. When I began going through clothes I had no idea what I'd have to dispose of. I joined a weight loss program awhile back, which has been so much fun! However, alllllllll my jeans have to go, nearly alllllllll my clothes have to go! My favorite jeans are falling off me which is good and bad, but they're my Tommys and I love them! Anyway, believe it or not I have 17 pairs of jeans and all but one pair look like they've never been worn. It's appalling, really. On the upside I've just decided out with the old and in with the new! I'm a Shopping Ninja. I can do this.

I think it's time for some Hot Stuff!!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

And ...
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Oh, yeahhhhhhhhhhh ... !! Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Sucks to be you because you aren't going w/ me. But don't feel bad! You can still have a productive life! You can do interesting things like this: Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Oh and good luck w/ that! And okay, those are small images but I realize the error of my ways and I'll soon correct it. Tonight you'll just have to suffer w/ a couple of small hotties.

Cousin Crusty sent me this and I've not yet stopped laughing:
With all the new technology regarding fertility, a 65-year-old woman was able to give birth to a baby recently. When she was discharged from the hospital and went home, her relatives came to visit. "May we see the new baby?" one asked.
"Not yet," said the mother. "I'll make coffee and we can visit for awhile first."
Thirty minutes had passed, and another relative asked, "May we see the new baby now?" "No, not yet," said the mother.
After another few minutes had elapsed, they asked again, "May we see the baby now? " "No, not yet," replied the mother.
Growing very impatient, they asked," Well, when CAN we see the baby?"
"WHEN HE CRIES!" she told them.
"WHEN HE CRIES??" they demanded. "Why do we have to wait until he CRIES??"
"BECAUSE, I forgot where I put him..."

How would you like free samples of Night & Day contact lenses, Nexxus Hair Care, "Saturdays" greeting cards and Rolaids Soft Chews? This really does work, y'all and just today I opted for the Nexxus as I didn't care for the other stuff:
FREE STUFF

The Strawberry Festival is in full swing in Humboldt! Should I not have to go to Memphis tomorrow I might make my way in the oppoite direction and partake of some yummy, juicy Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting It's gonna be a nice Saturday, it'll give me a chance to take my newest Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting What do you think?

OMG! I just remembered! I have to get the $200 rebates for my new laptop filled out so they can be postmarked by the 15th! I let it go w/ Old Grumpy, and w/ Blackie -- who has a shiny piano black keyboard! -- it's certainly not the money, but it's definitely the principle. I can't do this twice, I'd be ashamed of myself.

But you remember: Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting I'm watching you ...

Stressed

Yes. I'm stressed. But I'm fixin' to get me unstressed. Ready?

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

That's a good start, right there! He always makes my heart go Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting but Chris Cagle makes my heart flip right out of my chest!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Need I say more? Can't wait to see them, plus I definitely need some time off the ranch for awhile. However, I'm thinking I'll just take off for a couple of days, call my parents after I get where I'm going and ask them to watch my babies for me. I've done it many times before, and somehow my mom knows when I reach that point it's best to ask no questions. That would be dangerous ... for me, and she doesn't want to risk me getting to that point again.

Maybe it's the full moon, the Flower Moon, IF you can see it where you are. It's been rainy and cloudy here for so long I can no longer see well because of the many stars lighting the landscape so brightly. Tonight it's 57° w/ a west wind at 12 mph so winter has returned! The past two years spring has lasted about 77 hours going suddenly into deep summer but not this year. Lotsa rain and cool temps. I was thinking about my pool yesterday but thought better of it. I have plenty of time for that, evidently. The garden hasn't drowned out -- in fact, it's had enough intermittent sun between torrential rains to do very well. Many of the radishes and spring onions are ready ... if we could get to them but I'm not too keen on sinking to my ankles in mud to get to them. My mom has three of her hot peppers ready and no matter how her mouth waters we can't get to those either.

I did have bunches of stuff I wanted to say tonight but I'm finding myself more boring than usual so I'm outta here. Sorry about that.

I Feel Gooooooooood!!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
We don't ask why, we're just happy for all blessings, large and small! I went to sleep late because last season's episodes of Rescue Me are on late Saturday nights, but I woke up early! Go figure. Anyway, I feel good and I have half a notion of going shopping today. What do I need? Oh ... nothing, really but Target has a really great ad and I thought I might be able to find something for Mama. That dreaded day, Mother's Day is next Sunday. The only reason on earth I dread it is because the poor soul is so difficult to buy for. You can't purchase clothing for her: She doesn't like the way this is cut, or she doesn't care for the buttons. She dislikes jewelry except her wedding rings, and she doesn't wear a watch (I'd be so lost w/out a watch -- I'm like my daddy!). She has no hobbies, she doesn't read and she has Everything on Earth that she wants except a new kitchen table and chairs for the morning room. But I'm not buying her that even though I know what she wants. Hmm. I just had a thought: Perhaps I should buy her one? It's an idea at least!

Oh! Before I go on, I have a message for cpe-69-205-127-238.rochester.res.rr.com,
69.205.127.238, and it would serve you well to listen to me:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Be what you is, if you is old and ugly then be old and ugly, but be what you is! And in the words of Steven Tyler, "Don't give me no lip 'cause I've got enough of my own." And he still has an enormous level of hotness even after all these years you know.

I lovelovelove my new laptop! It's lightning fast, it's gorgeous all shiny black, the buttons are all different and recessed -- I could go on forever! I think we need to see another photo of it him!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

The keyboard, etc. looks grey but it's not, it's a very shiny black. Gorgeous! I'm still not accustomed to the widescreen monitor -- I don't view webpages the way you do, believe me -- nor can you even fathom the clarity of the screen. When I go back to Old Grumpy to burn information to a disc for transfer ... *sigh* It's just sad. I pity the fool who still has one like Old Grumpy. Technology is a wonderful thing and we all know in two years I'll get another new laptop and I'll gripe about Blackie. That's really sad too.

Here's something that's boggled my mind once I set myself to pondering on it -- You know Rock/Paper/Scissors? Here's the deal: I understand that scissors can beat paper and I get how rock can beat scissors. But there’s no freaking way paper can beat rock. Paper is supposed to magically wrap around rock leaving it immobile? Why the hell can’t paper do this to scissors? Screw scissors, why can’t paper do this to people? Why aren’t sheets of college-ruled notebook paper constantly suffocating students as they attempt to take notes in class? I’ll tell you why, because paper can’t beat anybody, a rock would tear it up in two seconds. When I play rock/paper/scissors I always choose rock. Then when somebody claims to have beaten me with their paper I can punch them in the face with my already clenched fist and say “Oh man, I’m sorry, I thought your paper would protect you, asshole.” Make sense?

I have a friend in Saint Louis I was talking to the other day and he was updating me on things I've missed since I left. One that really shocked me is this:

St. Louis County Executive George "Buzz" Westfall, 59, died October 27, 2003 at Christian Northeast Hospital in St. Louis of a staph infection, said Mac Scott, Westfall's spokesman Monday night. Mr. Westfall had been hospitalized since Oct. 5, when he checked in with severe back pain. Doctors discovered he had a staph infection. He had been in a drug-induced coma for several weeks.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

That's a familiar sight, Buzz and his white hair. I realize that doesn't mean much to you but I'm still pretty shocked. You check in to the hospital for severe back pain and you check out deader than a doornail. You just never know when your number's up ... Sad.

I have two photos of women wearing redneck bras:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I think the second one is more "redneck" than the first but who am I to judge something I wouldn't be caught dead in?

The next time you go to a Chinese restaurant you might want to remember this guy's "fortune."

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Oh my stars ...

This is self-explanatory and might explain why I feel the way I do:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

And why I have this general attitude regarding almost everything!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Did I show you the pool at the hotel/casino I'll be at in July, when I see Dwight Yoakam?

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Yeah, it's a rough life but I'll tough it out. It's over two months away but that's alright -- it's summer and that's a busy time for me anyway plus, my Geezers are taking a trip here pretty soon so I'll be watching the ranch 24/7 during that time. You know I wouldn't misbehave while they're gone but while I'm in Tunica I fully intend to enjoy the Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting and to Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Sounds just like Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting to me ... four or five days. Yeah, I'll tough it out! I can't wait -- after that, the countdown to Chris Cagle begins! YEEHAW!!

Now it's 1.00pm and I simply must do something else today besides play w/ Blackie. More later --

Kentucky Derby Day!

Saturday, 6 May, 9.30am:

Today is the run for the roses! Of course there is no way I'm going to miss it. I look forward to the Triple Crown every spring. I've been to the Derby, and the excitement is like none other, and I'm not including the people you might encounter. Once, that dufus Anna Nicole Smith was sitting behind us (if that wasn't bad enough) and was drinking, eating and cussing up a storm when she caught sight of Kid Rock walking by. She said something snide to him and he wasn't about to let that pass by -- and they were off! She began flinging food as fast as she spewed venom, he cussed her back while dodging food -- it was just a complete mess. She was asked to leave, so of course she cussed even louder as she was drunkenly dragged away. She has absolutely no respect for herself so why should anyone else bestow her w/ any? Yuck.

I was going to mention how lazy I feel today when my mom told me she and Daddy are going to take a nap. I don't know why she's tired but Daddy and the Duck were at Relay For Life 1.00am and then had to be back at Beech Lake to dismantle their event and haul it out of there by 7.30 this morning. He returned two hours later and I imagine he's exhausted. He did say the Duck didn't even bother getting undressed last night, just took his boots off and slept in a recliner. Those guys worked hard on that project, at least ten hours a day this past week but it was for a good cause of course. I don't know how much $ they made but when I saw them last night they had a steady business and lots of people were down there. I was lucky to find a parking space for Lovey where I did!

Whoops -- gotta do something, be back shortly!

Saturday, 6 May, 7.00pm:

That wasn't exactly "shortly" but I'm back. Some interesting things have happened and as a result, I'm now refusing to help in any way. Do it yourself, and by the way -- good luck!! You simply do not speak badly of someone whose favors you need, Moron #1. Duh. Try using the brain the good Lord give you for once, okay? Well, that was a stupid thing to say because if you'd been using your brain your life wouldn't be in the sorry shape it's in right now. The deception has caught up w/ you and now it's time to pay the price. I simply couldn't live that way -- but that's the difference between us. That and you're a freak. Anyway ... That's how it goes.

Dang! Cops is on. In the first segment this old girl bit the cop twice and in the second this they pull over a car that's been reported stolen and when he makes contact w/ the driver this girl begins resisting so Dude took her to the ground! Ohhh, they just found meth in her handbag. That explains a lot. "That meth is not mine!" Yup, we know honey. This must be a Bad Girls edition.

A hero and his unbeaten horse won the Kentucky Derby today. I love horse racing and I always check out the horses carefully before the race to see who I like and today my favorite was Barbaro because he was feisty! When they cinched him he started bucking, he didn't want to be mounted and then he wouldn't get in the gate. I knew that pretty bay colt had it in him, and did he ever put on a show! Check him out:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Reminiscent of Smarty Jones who was also undefeated going into the Derby, Barbaro too went to his knees coming out of the gate! Today's win gave trainer Michael Matz his first Derby victory and jockey Edgar Prado his first winning ride. Matz' joyous day came nearly 17 years after he led three children to safety within minutes after United Airlines flight 232 from Denver to Chicago cartwheeled down a runway, caught fire and skidded to a stop in an Iowa cornfield. He led the two brothers and their sister, who were traveling without their parents, away from the burning wreckage. D.D. Alexander, Matz's fiancee at the time and now his wife, also survived and the two stayed with the children until their parents arrived. Matz and another passenger then went back inside the plane after hearing the cries of a baby and pulled the infant out of a luggage compartment. There's always a story at the Derby. Keep Me Away From eBay aka Steph, You Aren't Doing Your Job!

Of course you know I didn't mean that. Pictured is my latest acquisition:

Tell me that's not gorgeous! It's 9"x13" and it's actually black in color. I needed something neutral and this is very nice. It comes new in box w/ distinctive Coach tissue paper and dust bag. It was sort of an impulse buy but what can I say? I needed a neutral bag. Right?

Today began rainy, cloudy and chilly but the sun came out about thirty minutes ago and it's beginning to warm up some. Daddy and the Duck are working on their Relay For Life project today -- in fact, I believe they have it delivered to Beech Lake by now, getting it ready for festivities beginnng tonight. They built a batting cage thingy, and one of the coppers from the County will be there clocking the pitch speeds. (No, no! You can't say "coppers" only I can, because I was on a City Council and those were my guys! Even Pizzo, who went to the Dark Side -- a larger department. I loved those guys ... *sigh*) Needless to say, Relay For Life is near and dear to this family's heart, all three of us, for Daddy is a five-year cancer survivor. Additionally, we're also active w/ St. Jude's so every spring/summer we take part in various activities and happy to do so. Always.

Guess what time it is ... ? Yup!

OH! I can't wait! But time is slowwwwly dragging by ... Checking the counter doesn't actually help me any. Possibly, it makes it worse!

Have I got something for y'all: White Trash Vehicles! Please, no comments of, "Is that your next door neighbor?" or the like because I'm not telling.

Ugh ... Kill me now.

So my mom lost her mind when she got her phone bill yesterday. She just opened it and it was higher than the basic rate she always pays which includes calling services as well as unlimited long distance. Short on patience at best, both my Geezers are at their limit presently due to several extenuating circumstances so when Mom opened that bill she totally lost it. There were two calls to Victoria, BC and she was quite sure she hadn't called Canada for anything! She thrust the phone bill at me, and told me she just can't deal w/ it, I'd have to call the phone company to "get those calls removed immediately!" Well, I didn't call immediately, I waited until I had more time this morning. Unfortunately, Dude wasn't about to remove the calls as there was one for one minute, and one for ten minutes. He said obviously, someone talked to a person at "Victoria Industries." I argued up and down, insisting my parents don't know a single soul in Canada but he didn't go for it. Reporting back to my mom the name of the company she actually said, "Hmm. Victoria Industries. That sounds familiar." Turns out she did make the call after all. Oh me -- but in all fairness, if I'd made a call to that area code I sure wouldn't have known it was Canada.

Oh good grief. I just received an email stating Chris Cagle:

-- my ultimate Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting is appearing at Loretta Lynn's Ranch in September. *SCREAM!* Hurricane Mills is very near here, not an hour away but for heaven's sake -- I can't express how little I care about Loretta Lynn. I don't dislike her, her music just isn't for me. Now I'm forced to call about tickets, etc. in September because trust me, Chris Cagle is all that and a bag of chips!

Need I say more? I've driven a lot farther to see him, believe me. I guess I can put up w/ a little Loretta memorabilia for a whole lotta Chris! But calling the Dude Ranch ... How embarrassing. But I may as well get it over with. Later --
